Marex hires industry veteran Williams

Financial services platform Marex has appointed Gareth Williams as vice president of securities finance.
Williams brings over 35 years of experience in financial services to the firm鈥檚 London office.
He joins Marex from a 22-year tenure at State Street, where he was most recently assistant vice president. Here, he focused on operations oversight, global markets agency lending.
From 2001 to 2003, Williams managed the cash management and treasury team at Deutsche Bank before the company鈥檚 merger with State Street鈥檚 securities finance division.
Earlier in his career, he worked for 12 years through several mergers, beginning at SG Warburg which merged with Swiss Banking, which merged with RBS to form RBS Trust Bank, and with a final merger by BNY.
